He warned of the perils ahead, ending his note, "in the name of God, let Palestine be left alone." Thus Rashid Khalidi, al-Khalidi's great-great-nephew, begins this sweeping history, the first general account of the conflict told from an explicitly Palestinian perspective. Drawing on a wealth of untapped archival materials and the reports of generations of family members--mayors, judges, scholars, diplomats, and journalists--The Hundred Years' War on Palestine upends accepted interpretations of the conflict, which tend, at best, to describe a tragic clash between two peoples with claims to the same territory. Instead, Khalidi traces a hundred years of colonial war on the Palestinians, waged first by the Zionist movement and then Israel, but backed by Britain and the United States, the great powers of the age. He highlights the key episodes in this colonial campaign, from the 1917 Balfour Declaration to the destruction of Palestine in 1948, from Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon to the endless and futile peace process. Original, authoritative, and important, The Hundred Years' War on Palestine is not a chronicle of victimization, nor does it whitewash the mistakes of Palestinian leaders or deny the emergence of national movements on both sides. In reevaluating the forces arrayed against the Palestinians, it offers an illuminating new view of a conflict that continues to this day"--Provided by publisher.

BK

eng

Khalidi, Rashid

<format>BK</format>
A History of Settler Colonialism and Resistance, 1917-2017

<image_url>https://secure.syndetics.com/index.aspx?isbn=9781627798556/MC.GIF&client=hennp&type=xw12&oclc=</image_url>

The Hundred Years' War on Palestine

A history of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict told from the Palestinian perspective, arguing the period since the Balfour Declaration of 1917 has amounted to a hundred years of colonial war against the Palestinians.

EBOOK

eng

Khalidi, Rashid

<format>EBOOK</format>
A History of Settler Colonialism and Resistance, 1917-2017

<image_url>https://secure.syndetics.com/index.aspx?isbn=9781627798549/MC.GIF&client=hennp&type=xw12&oclc=</image_url>

Palestine: A Primer

BK

eng

Khalidi, Rashid

<format>BK</format>

<image_url>https://secure.syndetics.com/index.aspx?isbn=9781250376060/MC.GIF&client=hennp&type=xw12&oclc=</image_url>

The Iron Cage: the Story of the Palestinian Struggle for Statehood

BK

eng

Khalidi, Rashid

<format>BK</format>

<image_url>https://secure.syndetics.com/index.aspx?isbn=9780807024157/MC.GIF&client=hennp&type=xw12&oclc=</image_url>

Under Siege

BK

eng

Khalidi, Rashid

<format>BK</format>
P.L.O. The first moment he investigates is the "Reagan Plan "of 1982, when Israeli prime minister Menachem Begin refused to accept the Reagan administration's proposal to reframe the Camp David Accords more impartially. The second moment covers the period after the Madrid Peace Conference, from 1991 to 1993, during which negotiations between Israel and Palestine were brokered by the United States until the signing of the secretly negotiated Oslo accords. Finally, Khalidi takes on President Barack Obama's retreat from plans to insist on halting the settlements in the West Bank. Through in-depth research into and keen analysis of these three moments, as well as his own firsthand experience as an advisor to the Palestinian delegation at the 1991 pre-Oslo negotiations in Washington, DC, Khalidi reveals how the United States and Israel have actively colluded to prevent a Palestinian state and resolve the situation in Israel's favor. Brokers of Deceit bares the truth about why peace in the Middle East has been impossible to achieve: for decades, US policymakers have masqueraded as unbiased agents working to bring the two sides together, when, in fact, they have been the agents of continuing injustice, effectively preventing the difficult but essential steps needed to achieve peace in the region.

EBOOK

eng

Khalidi, Rashid

<format>EBOOK</format>
How the US Has Undermined Peace in the Middle East

<image_url>https://secure.syndetics.com/index.aspx?isbn=9780807044766/MC.GIF&client=hennp&type=xw12&oclc=</image_url>

Palestinian Identity

BK

eng

Khalidi, Rashid

<format>BK</format>
The Construction of Modern National Consciousness

<image_url>https://secure.syndetics.com/index.aspx?isbn=9780231150743/MC.GIF&client=hennp&type=xw12&oclc=</image_url>

The Iron Cage

EBOOK

eng

Khalidi, Rashid

<format>EBOOK</format>
The Story of the Palestinian Struggle for Statehood

<image_url/>

The Iron Cage

"The story of the Palestinian search to establish a state begins in the era of British control over Palestine and stretches between the two world wars, when colonial control of the region became increasingly unpopular and power began to shift toward the United States. In this crucial period, and in the years immediately following World War II, Palestinian leaders were unable to achieve the long-cherished goal of establishing an independent state--a critical failure that throws a bright light on the efforts of the Palestinians to create a state in the many decades since 1948. But most Indigenous activism remains unseen in the mainstream--and so, of course, does its significance. J. Kēhaulani Kauanui set out to change that with her radio program Indigenous Politics. Issue by issue, she interviewed people who talked candidly and in an engaging way about how settler colonialism depends on erasing Native peoples and about how Native peoples can and do resist. Collected here, these conversations speak with clear and compelling voices about a range of Indigenous politics that shape everyday life. Land desecration, treaty rights, political status, cultural revitalization: these are among the themes taken up by a broad cross-section of interviewees from across the United States and from Canada, Mexico, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Australia, and New Zealand. Some speak from the thick of political action, some from a historical perspective, others from the reaches of Indigenous culture near and far. Writers, like Comanche Paul Chaat Smith, author of Everything You Know about Indians Is Wrong, expand on their work--about gaming and sovereignty, for example, or protecting Native graves, the reclamation of land, or the erasure of Indian identity. These conversations both inform and engage at a moment when their messages could not be more urgent." -- Publisher's description

BK

eng

Kauanui, J. The Occupation of the American Mind takes an eye-opening look at this critical exception, zeroing in on pro-Israel public relations efforts within the U.S. Narrated by Roger Waters and featuring leading observers of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and U.S. media culture, the film explores how the Israeli government, the U.S. government, and the pro-Israel lobby have joined forces, often with very different motives, to shape American media coverage of the conflict in Israel's favor. From the U.S.-based public relations campaigns that emerged in the 1980s to today, the film provides a sweeping analysis of Israel's decades-long battle for the hearts, minds, and tax dollars of the American people in the face of widening international condemnation of its increasingly right-wing policies.

VIDEO_ONLINE

eng

<format>VIDEO_ONLINE</format>
Israel's Public Relations War in the United States

<image_url/>
